Our policy
Beautiful and attainable are not only Keller’s brand values; the ethos steers every decision made. The values also extend to the environment. For this reason, CSR is incorporated into the company’s strategic focus. It’s the only way Keller can provide the perfect balance between People, Planet & Prosperity. The results of this decision are clearly noticeable. It’s the reason why Keller Kitchens, since April 2017, has a carbon neutral manufacturing process. This is the result of both carbon reduction as well as carbon compensation.
Leading in sustainable entrepreneurship
On July 12, 2023 our parent organisation DKG has become the first Dutch kitchen manufacturer to reach the highest level on the CO2-Performance Ladder. The level 5 certificate demonstrates that the company has taken big steps to reduce carbon emissions. Not only internally, but throughout the entire supply chain. This makes us a leader in sustainable initiatives in the European kitchen industry.
The sustainable initiative aligns with the Dutch government's ambition to achieve a fully circular economy by 2050. This requires thousands of companies large and small to transition to a new way of working.
A perfect example of this transition is the development of the biobased kitchen, which we are working on. As a market leader in the industry, we want to set the standard an be ready for a beautiful future!
Carbon neutral production
The results of our activities in the field of sustainability
In recent decades we have pursued an ambitious sustainability policy. With results. Our production process has been been produced carbon neutral since 2017, which we have achieved through both CO2 reduction and compensation. Thanks to these efforts, we have achieved various certifications according to the highest standards.
It doesn't stop here for us, we continue to look for new, innovative ways to make our products and processes even more sustainable. One of the current CSR activities includes developing a circular kitchen process and a biobased kitchen.
Certificates
In recent years, Keller Kitchens has achieved various important certificates in the field of sustainability and quality. The CO2 Performance Ladder is a leading sustainability instrument that helps organisations identify and structurally reduce CO2. We are proud to be the first kitchen manufacturer to have achieved the highest level on this scale.
Our most common model Elba also has the Milieukeur* certificate and we have ISO-9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
* Milieukeuris the national ecolabel for more sustainable non-food products and services with (inter)national certificate holders. Milieukeur’s criteria are based on the lifecycle of a product or service and include various sustainability themes.
Global Reporting Initiative
Keller Kitchens has ambitious goals when it comes to CSR. To achieve them, a thought through strategy is needed. This will describe where we as a company want to be in the future, and what our take-off position is. That’s why in 2016, we hired an external consultant to analyse all our CSR activities. The results of this research are processed into an extensive report using the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
People, Planet en Prosperity
To consciously deal with our climate and environment, we reduce our CO2 emissions by generating electricity through solar panels, converting waste into energy and using sustainable transport. In addition, we offset the remaining CO2 emissions by investing in sustainability projects such as Carbon Farming via ZLTO, reforestation projects through Trees for All and climate projects through the Climate Neutral Group.
